It was a quiet day here on the campus as students began to return to begin classes tomorrow. Many things in Haiti, such as classes here, were on pause in remembrance of the devastating earthquake that took place five years ago today. Therefore, though we were originally scheduled to begin today, it was an extra day of preparation. I was happy to take some time in the afternoon to rest. I rarely sleep well away from home, and this new location is no exception to what seems to be a normal pattern for me.

Haiti is one of my favorite places - and EBS and the Ayars hold a special place in my heart. I was so excited to see that you are there as a visiting professor! I was blessed to be able to participate in your Saturation Bible Study course via video during a ministry training program that used Cross-Style ministry courses as a base about 7 years ago. I am praying with you for the students you will be teaching and spurring on in love for the Lord and His Word, and praying for you as well as you miss your family and take in the beauty and the need of Haiti.
