I am a full-time itinerant evangelist and teacher. Instead of being a pastor of a local congregation, my life is given to preaching, teaching, and equipping in various churches and in various Christian gatherings around North America. Yet, the experience of having been a pastor for eight years continues to dramatically shape how I view and approach this calling. I have a love for preaching and teaching, and there is a great joy in that for me. Yet, I am continuing to find that these are a part of the greater mission of making disciples. The more I study the Word, the more I continue to find a clear formula that leaps off of the pages: Discipleship = message + life. I have discovered in recent years how deep this is in Paul's letters as he has such a deep love for the people and maintains ongoing relationships with them while preaching and teaching Jesus. "So affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives because you had become dear to us (1 Thessalonians 2:8)."
Simply put, Jesus continues to grow in me a passion for making disciples. This includes ongoing relationships and sharing Him through life as well as through preaching, teaching, and equipping. The imagery of running the race together is very real for me. I feel deeply and increasingly called to run alongside churches, pastors, and students around the world. I desire to be a supporter, an encourager, and a facilitator in any way I can for what God wants to do in the churches, through their pastors, and in the lives of students. God has provided the following means for this calling at this time: |
Itinerant travel, preaching, and teaching
I accept invitations year round to travel to preach and teach Jesus Christ through the Word in churches of various denominations in locations throughout North America. This can be for a single service or for multiple services, such as revival meetings or spiritual renewal conferences. I do this on a free-will or love offering basis only, so as to not exclude any church because of size or financial ability. A part of this call to share the Word is to help equip people in their own study of the Word, for I believe that this is a vital part of discipleship and growth in Jesus Christ for each individual as well as for the church. You can check our Schedule page to see where I may be at various times through the year.
Evangelist in Residence
While I travel quite a bit of the year to preach in places near and far from home, we are also called to be a support to our local home church, Trevecca Community Church in Nashville. Toward this end, I serve as Evangelist in Residence at TCC. This includes not only preaching occasionally, but also being a part of a teaching team in a Sunday School class and helping to facilitate evangelism and discipleship among our congregation.

Discipleship resources and teaching
Alongside preaching and teaching is the call to continue writing and providing materials. We offer some simple teaching videos, but our main focus is in writing books and discipleship materials that share the truth of Word. It is my conviction, from studying church history, that materials such as this can be a vital part of personal discipleship and the spreading of the message. We offer our products on a donation-only basis, as long as resources allow. It is our hearts' desire that these resources be available to anyone who wants them, regardless of financial ability. Online and adjunct teaching
It is a great joy to be able to offer live online Bible classes for high school students through The Potter's School. Go to our Teaching page to learn more about these courses. Because our classes are online, I am able to teach from wherever I may be that particular week, whether at home or in some other location around North America. It is an awesome privilege to walk weekly with these students in the Word. I also serve through teaching online classes as adjunct faculty in the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. I am so thankful for this opportunity to run alongside of and encourage students who are called to ministry.
I truly feel blessed beyond measure to be placed where I am for such a time as this, and I am a debtor. I thank our Lord Jesus Christ for His unfailing love, presence, and sourcing, and for the amazing privilege of being included in what He is doing for such a time as this. "And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2)."
